Asheville First Church of the Nazarene Pastor Jim Stewart is in his nineteenth year as Senior Pastor of Asheville First Church of the Nazarene and Chairman of the Board of Nazarene Christian School.
Born in Lafayette, Indiana, he was saved at the age of seven and soon felt the call of God upon his life to preach the gospel.
Pursuing his call, Jim attended Indiana Wesleyan University where he met his wife, Joan. They have two daughters, one son and three grandchildren.
After graduating from IWU, Jim served as Minister of Christian Education and Youth at Churches in Indiana and Ohio, followed by senior pastorates at Frayser Church of the Nazarene in Memphis, Tennessee and Raleigh (NC) First Church of the Nazarene. He has served in other leadership roles in his denomination.
Pastor Stewart has begun a new prayer meeting which is held in his office every Tuesday morning at 8am. There will be a brief time of scripture reading and the sharing of prayer requests, and the greater part of the hour will be devoted to prayer for the church, community, and for the salvation of lost loved ones and friends.
Everyone interested in joining together in intercession for the church is invited to meet with us each Tuesday Morning at 8am.
